We are actively recruiting a Postdoc, lab manager, and graduate students to complete work on an NIH funded project (R01AI189572, https://reporter.nih.gov/search/wk0CzbUpwE69AxJ0uTlPBQ/project-details/…) which focuses on the interplay between the microbiota and life history traits in male Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.
We are looking for the postdoc and lab manager to start ASAP and for the graduate student to start in AU 2026.
The Short lab at Ohio State (Columbus, OH, USA) is seeking interested students to apply for a funded (tuition + stipend) graduate position beginning Fall 2026 as part of an NIH-funded study (R01AI189572, https://lnkd.in/efHWR5sf ) which focuses on the interplay between the microbiota and life history traits in male Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. The position could be for an M.S. or PhD depending on student interest.

Benefits:
Annual stipend is $34,764, and tuition and health insurance are both covered at 100%.
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in the life sciences and must show a strong academic record, have prior experience in research, and have strong writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have education/experience in any of the following: vector biology, microbiology, microbial ecology, metagenomics, or metabolomics. Experience working with teams is a plus, as is experience performing molecular and organismal experiments in insect systems.
